The following crime reports are re-printed from the Criminal Justice Statistics Center homepage and compares preliminary crime counts for 1998 as well as final counts for 1997 for jurisdictions with populations of 100,000 or more.

The California Crime Index in 1998 dropped 12% from 1997, with violent crimes and property crimes also decreasing. This is excellent news! Lets help keep crime down by organizing and participating in local neighborhood watch programs and by taking self-defense courses. Also, by installing an alarm system you can deter potential burglars from violating your home plus save money on your homeowner's insurance! (most insurance companies discount 10% for burglar alarms, so check with your insurance carrier!). Keep your family and your possessions safe with Aid Alert Security Systems!
